Subscribing for Updates

You can send me a simple email if you would like updates when I publish a new blog posting. This is simple and basic, and your email will never be sold or used in any way whatsoever. I will be managing the updates manually in my own email program and will no longer be using any sort of automated service. Please see the reason below the subscribe link for this change.

Clicking the subscribe link below will simply open a new email in your system chosen email program, and  automatically fill in the subject line for you and enter my email address in for you, just to make it easy. If you are not comfortable sharing your own email address, I completely understand! In that case, you will simply have to bookmark my blog and check on it occasionally for new content.

The Reason for the Change

Over the years, I have used a few different services to allow people to subscribe and be notified when I post a new entry to this blog. Most recently, I was using follow.it however much to my dismay, the emails they send out to subscribers now direct you to a page with ads and questionable "news" both above and below my summarized posting. This was not the case when I first signed up and indeed, this only changed in late November of 2025. I only just noticed it now (December 15th, 2025) and I was never once notified by follow.it about this change in policy, nor was a I given the option to close my feed.

So, I have removed the follow.it widget from my homepage so no further people can sign up that way. I have tried to edit and/or delete my feed, but there actually doesn't seem to be any way for me to do that. I only hope that if people are annoyed at the sudden ads (like I was!), that the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the emails will actually work for them. My fingers are crossed.

My policy from day one was to never have any advertising of any sort on my blog and this development with follow.it is extremely irritating. I have been ad free for the last 15 years! I tested follow.it prior to offering it to people to sign up and it was clean and simple with no advertising. Now, less than a year later, suddenly there are ads and a summary of my feed no longer even shows in the email that is sent out. Argh. I am so sorry if you subscribed and are now suddenly seeing annoying ads in the links that are being sent out by follow.it!
